Caruthers defeats Evergreen Valley 61-52.
Caruthers High Schools defeated Evergreen Valley in the CIF D3 Round 21 State Tournament. Caruthers advances on to face University High School on March 2nd. Caruthers Senior Morgan Trigueiro commented on how the Blue Raiders will prepare for their next game. "We are going back to the hotel to get some rest and get our bodies right. Tomorrow is a new day and a new team we start prepping just like we did for this one. Get in the gym, scout, and watch film." Evergreen Valley Junior Lealah Rowden is confident that the Cougars will continue their run for a state title next year. Rowden had this to say, "We have to get our mindset right to win every single game. We started off slow this game, which I think is what ended the game the way it did. Overall as a team we need to put in more work and play harder."
This was the end of an impressive season for the Cougars, that included a CIF CCS D1 Championship. Looking forward to seeing the 2023 season and what Coach Drews' Cougars can accomplish. Congratulations to the Blue Raiders and we wish you the best of luck on your run for a state championship.
